Over 150 years of Weiherer beer

Weiherer beer comes from the heart of Franconia, ten kilometers west of Bamberg, from the Kundmüller brewery and inn—a family business that has been synonymous with excellent beer for over 150 years. The Kundmüller brewery is considered one of the most award-winning breweries in Germany. In 2025, it was named “Brewery of the Year” at the Finest Beer Selection beer awards. In addition, 33 medals at the European Beer Star, over 70 medals at the World Beer Award, and 6 medals at the world's largest beer competition, the World Beer Cup, testify to the quality of Weiherer beers. In 2025, Weiherer Rauch won the gold medal and was crowned world champion at the World Beer Cup, and in 2024, Weiherer Kräusen Hell was named “Best Kellerbier” at the same competition. Weiherer / Cervejaria Bamberg Zapfenduster won the world championship title twice in a row in 2024 and 2025 at the World Beer Awards for “Best Stout & Porter in the World” and “Best Stout in the World,” respectively, and in 2023, Weiherer Pils won the world championship title at this competition.

Sustainability also plays a major role, which was more than underlined by winning the Future Award at the European Beer Star in 2022. In addition, the Kundmüller brewery received the Future Award from the Upper Franconia Chamber of Crafts in 2025 in the category “Energy-efficient & sustainable craftsmanship.”

The property is surrounded by idyllic nature, and in the cozy restaurant and rustic beer garden with playground, you can enjoy homemade snacks and warm Franconian specialties such as Schäuferla, smoked pork belly and Bohnakern, Bocksbraten, Schlachtschüssel, and much more—all at a fair price! And if you want to stay longer, the cozy guest rooms have been freshly renovated. There is also a small beer museum and the digital exploration tour “Neigschaut” around the Weiherer beer world.
